Question by : How to make your “No Service” on your iPhone state “AT&T 3G?”?
I have an iPhone 3G, the service canceled on it. I was asking yourself whether there was a way to make the ideal state “AT&T 3G.” With bars. Without having jailbreaking it. I would hate to jailbreak it in case of messing up my iPhone, or it just not operating anymore. Is there something in settings or something? Thanks.

Even if you dont use the 3g network the iphone is registered on the network, when the sweeps are performed it will see your using an iphone unlocked or locked and add the data plan. Once its added you cannot remove it unless you switch phones. If you switch back.. it will be added back.
There is no way around this.
IF you are using the iPhone without a data package you are going to pay .01 per kb, considering your running a full browser hang on for that bill. I worked with one today that used over $ 1000 of internet in 4 DAYS!!!! I still have no idea what they were doing but its fixed they have the data plan and credit will be issued.
Edge & 3G are both ATT networks, hence, you pay them to use those.
